May 16th Nicole enjoyed the play so much and wanted Michael and Samantha to meet Arielle Dayan. Dad ordered tickets for the performance and breakfast with the Seussial cast. We went to Drury Lane Oakbrook Terrace to see Seussical the Musical. The play was awesome. But the kids were disappointed when Drury Lane overbooked the event and we never got to see the cast as promised.

December 6th Dad's mom came to visit for the holidays. She flew up from Saint Augustine, Florida. She must really love us to come back to the cold weather.
December 8th We made gingerbread houses at "Time out" at the Living Well Cancer Resource Center.
December 25th Mom and dad worked today, while Grandma stayed home. Nicole gave us a scare when she had a grand mal seizure in the shower at about 7:50 AM. When she fell, she hit her head in the tub, earning a trip in the ambulance to Delnor Hospital on a backboard and c-collar. Nicole did NOT like that it was very uncomfortable and definitely not the way she wanted to celebrate Christmas. They did a CT scan and found no injury from the fall but it did show that her ventricles were enlarged, indicating possible shunt failure. Mom brought Nicole home and later we celebrated Christmas at mom's parent's house. Where after dinner and before dessert, Nicole had another grand mal seizure.
December 30th Mom and dad took Nicole to Children's Memorial to see her neurosurgeon, Dr Tomita. Dr. Tomita felt that her shunt was failing and had the programming changed to allow more drainage of the CSF. We hope this will give us some time before the shunt revision. We have a regularly scheduled MRI on January 13th and will likely make a decision on whether to revise the shunt or to wait. The shunt is six years old so this is one of the longest lasting shunts we have had.
As always Please keep Nicole in your prayers
They really DO work!
